Please find linked below IACM submitted comments to the recent WTO notification from the Philippines FDA, in which a draft guidelines on the registration of food products, including raw materials and food ingredients, containing aluminum lake colors, and as such food additives for further processing are shared for comment.
The guidelines set out the conditions to be met for the use of aluminum lake colors in processed food products, including raw materials, food ingredients upon filing of initial Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) application or for renewal.
IACM’s comments provide rationale for why there should be no need to require a registration process for lake products due to their global regulatory approval. The comments also address consumer exposure to lakes.
